Such Sad News!
|31 January 2016|
Pink Phoenix Cancer Foundation received the devastating news that Niselle Naidoo passed away after contacting an infection in her port and complications from blood clots on her lungs.
Niselle (age 20), diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, was on the donor list for over two years hoping to find a match for her rare tissue type, and against all odds, she was matched with a donor in the UK.
Niselle was admitted to hospital in Nov 2015, amidst much excitement, to start the intense treatment to prepare her body for her lifesaving bone arrow transplant.
Niselle's mother, Lovin Naidoo, kept us informed the whole way and what a nail biting experience it was... as so many factors were in play to make this work and Pink Phoenix shared the stages of this incredible procedure and Niselle's progress through our social media.
This was so unexpected as Niselle and her family had celebrated her successful transplant with us over the Xmas period and Niselle had recently reached her 70 day milestone "post op".
Our hearts reach out to the Naidoo family who have been through so much over the past two years to save the life of their special child. May her precious soul RIP!
Together we hope to make a difference and alleviate some of the financial stress the Naidoo's now face.
This campaign has raised R25 300 so far and your Donation would be gratefully appreciated....EVERY CENT COUNTS!
