'Neli' Manelisi Mthembu
Neli has found a bone marrow Donar in the USA and we need to raise an amount ofR 110,000. My name is Hazel Mthembu, I am a mom of a soon to be 5 year old (birthday in Oct) daughter who has been diagnosed with leukemia since Jan 2014. My husband Sipho MThembu who is bridging student at Entabeni hospital. I work at a umhlanga cardiac theatre. We have 2 other daughters. My little girls name is Manelisi.
We are young parents, I am 32 and my husband is 35yrs. We have been struggling with Manelisis's disease since Jan going in and out of hospital. We watch her every month fight for her life through chemo. In the middle of it all we have to make up hours of duty in the hospitals that we work in and we still have to look after our 2 other girls.
Her life lifestyle has become expensive due to a different diet she has to eat and having to protect her from infection. We try work overtime in order to try and maintain a healthy lifestyle for her.
Unfortunately her disease process has to come to a point where she needs a bone marrow transplant which med aid don't cover. We did try go through the government medical health system however we will have to wait too long and Neli needs a transplant within the next 3 months, otherwise she won't make it. We appeal to the public to please help us and raise funds so that my daughter can have a chance at life, so she can have more birthdays.
We can't do this by ourselves we need help to raise funds so she can have a transplant by finding a donor to match. Unfortunately none of us in her family are a donor match and as a mother I feel so helpless watching everyday my daughter get weaker and weaker. I however can't give up and stop trying as it is my daughters life I'm trying to save.
